In addition, its well-balanced weight makes installation easier on SUVs, pickups, and overland trucks. As a result, you travel prepared, organized, and without compromise.

Premium Materials and Manufacturing
For over 30 years, James Baroud has been designing roof tents known worldwide for durability and reliability. All components are sourced in Europe to ensure consistent quality and high performance in extreme conditions.
The hard shells are manufactured in Milan, Italy, while technical fabrics come from the Netherlands. These same fabrics are used by NASA in aerospace applications. Stitching is done with German Gütermann threads, and each tent is hand-assembled in Porto, Portugal. The result is a premium finish backed by a full 5-year warranty.
Reinforced and Aerodynamic Hard Shell
The four-layer fiberglass shell is built to withstand heavy rain, strong winds, extreme cold, and prolonged heat. Its aerodynamic design reduces drag and helps limit fuel consumption on long journeys.
An integrated solar fan ensures continuous airflow, effectively reducing condensation day and night. This keeps the interior drier and more comfortable, even in humid or cold environments.
Waterproof and Breathable Fabric
The patented fabric effectively repels water while remaining breathable. It blocks UV rays and helps maintain a comfortable interior temperature.
The 360° panoramic openings provide excellent visibility around camp, while durable mosquito nets protect against insects. Silent, rubberized zippers are designed for intensive expedition use.

Comfort and Integrated Features
The Grand Raid X includes a 65 mm high-density mattress for restful sleep during long trips. Smart storage spaces, a rechargeable portable LED light, and a sturdy ladder complete the setup for easy daily use.

Compatibility and Off-Grid Use
It supports a typical dynamic load of around 75 kg. Its rooftop load capacity allows you to add storage bags, spare tires, or expedition gear.
It is also compatible with 4-season insulation, awnings, and James Baroud annexes. Additionally, it integrates perfectly into a full off-grid setup with diesel heaters, solar panels, or portable power stations, whether on vans, SUVs, or overland trucks.

Practical Tips for Canada
For optimal use, always distribute rooftop weight evenly and regularly check clamps during road trips. In cold or humid climates, adding an anti-condensation mat improves comfort. For long expeditions, its aerodynamic design and load capacity make it an ideal companion on remote Canadian trails.
