Red Bear Outdoors's main goal is to enable fun overland adventures for campers and explorers of all levels, and have fun doing it as a team!

We are a Toronto based full-service shop for all things overland and camping, a small business that works hard but likes to have fun doing it. We believe that customers should choose the best product that works for them and their personal situation, there is no commission and no sales pressure, in fact we love to chat with people to share camping stories and recommend new places to camp. Our goal is to enable fun adventures for campers and explorers of all levels, whether they are a beginner with a RAV4 or a seasoned overlander with a heavily modified Land Rover Defender, all are welcome at Red Bear Outdoors!

Junior Tech [Part-Time - Hourly]

Job Description
Do you enjoy working with your hands, have some background with vehicles or construction, are interested to work for the best overland shop in Ontario, and love to work with people then give us a shout!

At Red Bear Outdoors we install a LOT of different things for customers, ranging from basic roof cross bars and accessories, to rock sliders, to full-build Alu-Cab campers with complex electrical systems. Your goal would be to help the team get the installation job done and learn new skills in the process. If you'd like to progress further from there, change up to take on more responsibility roles or work on the sales side, the opportunity is yours and we welcome it.

In a nutshell, if you're very comfortable around tools, understand the basics, have a knack for problem solving, and have an awesome attitude to be part of a team, then we want your help.

The Junior Tech position includes these responsibilities:

  • Support the team with customer vehicle's installations
  • Carry out various parts of the installation process as guided by the Outdoors Specialists
  • Help mount/dismount rental gear and gear being stored off-season
  • Help package / receive product inventory when not working on installations
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop
  • Other help on the shop floor

Job Type

  • Part-Time - with possibility of Full-Time

Scheduling:

  • Shop hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, Sat 11am to 5pm

Requirements:

  • Solid teamwork attitude, and open approach to solving problems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to move and carry up to 60lbs items
  • Interest in off-road vehicles, overlanding and camping is a bonus

Outdoors Retailer

Job Description

Do you know your way around roof top tents / ground tents, vehicle racks, stoves, and fridges (among other camping equipment), are interested to work for the best overland shop in Ontario, and love to work with people then give us a shout!

The Outdoors Retailer position includes these responsibilities:

  • Help customers via email / phone / in our showroom with product advice and selecting an option that works best for them
  • Demo product to customers in the showroom
  • Handle sale transactions and create quotes
  • Ship and receive product inventory
  • Package and label online orders
  • Update inventory on the website

Job Type

  • Part-Time

Scheduling:

  • Shop hours are M/W/Th/F 10am to 6pm and Saturdays 11am to 5pm
  • Opportunity for more hours as peak season arrives
  • Occasional special events such as trade shows and expos (travel from RBO to event is covered)

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and a drive to help our customers
  • Interest in overlanding and camping
  • Basic math and computer abilities
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to move and carry up to 60lbs items

Administrative Assistant [Full-Time 4 Days / Week - Hourly]

Job Description
Are you detailed, organized, enjoy seeing the little details of the inner workings of a small business, are interested to work for the best overland shop in Ontario, and love to work with people then give us a shout!

The Administrative Assistant position includes these responsibilities:

  • Maintain shop work calendar organized
  • Assist with customer and vendor emails
  • Create quotes for customers based on details provided by Outdoors Retailer or Shop Manager
  • Keep track of inventory and re-stocking needs
  • Place orders with manufacturers / distributors for new inventory as advised by Shop Manager
  • Coordinate warranty claims with manufacturers
  • Scan/organize receipts, invoices, and other media files
  • Help answer the phone for the Outdoors Retailer staff
  • Assist with other general administrative duties

Occasionally (secondary priority to core duties) you may be asked to help in the showroom with:

  • Help customers in our showroom with general product questions (such as pricing and availability)
  • Demo product to customers in the showroom
  • Handle checkout of transactions
  • Ship and receive product inventory
  • Package and label online orders

Job Type

  • Full-Time - Hourly

Scheduling:

  • 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday, 10am to 6pm, with potential additional hours available during busy season, if wanted
  • Occasional special events such as trade shows and expos will go through weekends

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal proficiency and a drive to help our customers and the team
  • Detail-oriented
  • Basic math and computer abilities (Word editing, emails, calendar, file organization, etc.)
  • Organizational skills
  • Helps to have an interest in overlanding and camping but not a requirement
