Red Bear Outdoors's main goal is to enable fun overland adventures for campers and explorers of all levels, and have fun doing it as a team!

We are a full-service shop, based in Mississauga, for all things overland and camping, a small business that works hard but likes to have fun doing it. We believe that customers should choose the best product that works for them and their personal situation, there is no commission and no sales pressure, in fact we love to chat with people to share camping stories and recommend new places to camp. Our goal is to enable fun adventures for campers and explorers of all levels, whether they are a beginner with a RAV4 or a seasoned overlander with a heavily modified Land Rover Defender, all are welcome at Red Bear Outdoors!

Junior Tech [Part-Time]

Job Description

Do you enjoy working with vehicles and have some automotive or mechanical
experience, are interested to work for the best overland shop in Ontario, and
love to work with people then give us a shout!

At Red Bear Outdoors we install a LOT of different things for customers, ranging from basic roof cross bars and accessories, to rock sliders and bumpers, tires and suspensions, to full-build truck campers with interior cabinetry and complex electrical systems. Your goal would be to get the installation job done and learn new skills in the process. If you'd like to
progress further from there, change up to take on more responsibility or
leadership roles, we welcome the growth!

The Junior Tech position includes these responsibilities:

  • Assist with vehicle installations of our products
  • Help mount/dismount/inspect rental gear and gear being stored
  • Help off-load shipments and package / receive product inventory when not working on installations
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop
  • Other help in the warehouse

Job Type

  • Part-Time (8 hour days)
  • You will be scheduled for at least 3 days every week. During busy season in Spring/Summer up to 5 days.

Scheduling:

  • Shop hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, Sat 11am to 5pm

Pay

  • $19.50/hr

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with power tools and know various hand tools you would expect to see in a garage
  • We will teach you what you need to know for any specific installation, you must be comfortable reading instructions from manufacturers and applying that to the work at hand
  • Solid teamwork attitude, and open approach to solving problems
  • Valid G driver's license and clean driving abstract
  • Must be able to reliably get to our shop in Mississauga on schedule
  • Interest in off-road vehicles, overlanding and camping is a bonus

Technician [Permanent - Hourly]

Pay Rate

  • $22 / hr

Requirements:

  • Automotive technician experience
  • Solid teamwork attitude, and open approach to solving problems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to move and carry up to 60lbs items
  • Interest in off-road vehicles, overlanding and camping is a bonus
  • Must be able to reliably get to our shop in Mississauga on schedule
  • Friendly and inclusive, we have customers / team members / friends from all walks of life and any discrimination is strictly not tolerated
